Thailand's motorbike event calendar is one of the richest in Southeast Asia — from massive annual bike week gatherings that bring tens of thousands of riders together, to world-class MotoGP racing at one of Asia's finest circuits, to professional track day experiences that let you ride a Ducati Panigale on a race track with an ex-MotoGP instructor.
Annual Bike Week Events
Burapa Bike Week — Pattaya
Thailand's original and longest-running bike festival, held annually in Pattaya every February since 1997. The centrepiece is the Ride for Peace — a parade of thousands of bikes through the city and along Jomtien Beach that has grown to attract up to 50,000 participants. Beyond the parade: bike shows, live music, stunt performances and the full energy of one of Southeast Asia's great riding gatherings.
Phuket Bike Week
One of the biggest bike conventions in Asia and the most internationally known motorbike event in Thailand. Running for over two decades, taking place annually in April timed to coincide with the Songkran festival. Riders from across Asia descend on Phuket for a week of group rides, bike exhibitions and live music.
Chiang Mai Bike Week
Northern Thailand's premier bike event, held annually in mid-December at the Chiang Mai Expo Center. Major brands including Triumph, Harley Davidson, Honda and Kawasaki alongside modified classics, stunt riding, gear stalls and live music. Free admission.
Racing — MotoGP Thailand Grand Prix
Thailand hosts a round of the MotoGP World Championship at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram — one of the finest racing facilities in Asia.
The PT Grand Prix of Thailand is held annually at Chang International Circuit, typically in late February or early March. The circuit is a 4.554km, 12-turn track built to FIA Grade 1 and FIM Grade A standards — the highest possible certification for international motorsport. Capacity of 100,000 spectators. Attending the Thai MotoGP is an extraordinary experience for any motorcycle enthusiast.
Track Days
Bira International Circuit — Pattaya
Thailand's oldest permanent racing circuit, opened in 1986 and located about 90 minutes from Bangkok near Pattaya. The 2.41km, 11-turn layout is technical and bumpy — with elevation changes, two chicanes and a fast downhill double-apex corner. Bira runs the most frequent track days of any circuit in Thailand, with motorcycle sessions on dedicated bike days. Accessible, affordable and historically significant.
Kaeng Krachan Circuit — Phetchaburi
Thailand's second longest permanent circuit at 2.912km, located near Hua Hin — approximately three hours from Bangkok. The circuit sits in a valley with elevation changes, uphill and downhill turns, and a layout that spectators can see in its entirety. Hosts national and club level events, motorcycle racing schools and track days. Track Time Thailand runs regular motorcycle track day events here.
Track Day Riding Experiences
Ducati Riding Experience (DRE) — Buriram
One of the most extraordinary riding experiences in Southeast Asia. The Ducati Riding Experience at Chang International Circuit puts riders on a Ducati Panigale on the MotoGP track, with professional instruction from ex-MotoGP and World Superbike riders. A full day on track with expert coaching and equipment provided.
Drag Racing
Bangkok Drag Avenue (BDA)
Thailand's premier dedicated quarter mile drag strip, located near Suvarnabhumi Airport approximately 90 minutes from central Bangkok. Runs regular test and tune nights with professional timing equipment, official time slips and bracket racing competitions across multiple classes. Motorcycle drag racing features on select nights. A raw, grassroots atmosphere that gives a genuine window into Bangkok's performance bike community.
NGO Street Drag Bike Party — Songkhla
Thailand's most popular and celebrated drag racing meet, held annually at Songkhla International Speedway in southern Thailand. A festival-style event combining a bike show, music and electrifying quarter mile drag racing with wildly modified two-stroke bikes. An authentically Thai motorsport experience and a bucket list event for anyone with a love of straight-line speed.
